Gallová, Iveta ; Strnad, Pavel (advisor) ; Mahrová, Andrea (referee)
Title: Individual possibilities of involving relaxation techniques in the rehabilitation care of patients after implantation of a total hip joint endoprosthesis Objectives: The goal of the thesis is to offer to individual probands the possibility of including relaxation techniques in therapy, beyond the scope of normal rehabilitation after implantation of a total hip joint endoprosthesis. Methods: The diploma thesis is of a theoretical-empirical nature and is conducted as qualitative research. The monitored group consisted of 4 people - 3 women and 1 man, aged 50 to 55 years, all after primary implantation of a total hip joint endoprosthesis, who were hospitalized in the hospital's rehabilitation department for 3 weeks. The research part of the thesis was focused on the inclusion of exercises with elements of relaxation techniques in the therapy of individual probands. The intervention was an individually designed exercise using elements of relaxation techniques for individual probands. The structure of this exercise changed during the research depending on the fitness of the probands and their current physical and psychological state. The following methods were used for data collection: semi-structured interview, taking anamnesis, inspection, palpation, measurement of joint ranges according to the...
Probability of destructions in total joint endoprosthesis ceramic heads using Weibull's theory.
Fuis, Vladimír ; Málek, M. ; Janíček, P.
The probability calculation using two variants of Weibull weakest-link theory is presented in this article. The first varian assumed only one tensile stress (the first principal stress) and the second variant assumed all three principal stresses in the ceramic component.

The paper deals with the problems of ceramic head of hip joint endoprosthesis destructions in vivo, and with assessing the impact of shape deflections of conical surfaces on the tensile stress in the head. There are assumed two material characteristics of the stem – the first is linear elastic and the second is bilinear plastic modelled austenitic steel used in the bio-implants. Concerned are shape deviations from the ideal conical surfaces of the stem and the head of the endoprosthesis. The shape deviations may be modelled at the macro-level - this concerns model shape inaccuracies such as deviation from the nominal degree of taper, at the micro-level - when the stochastic distribution of unevenness on the contact areas is respected. The problem of stress in ceramic heads was solved using the algorithm of the finite element method – system ANSYS under ISO 7206-5 loading.

In the works dealing with computational hip join modelling, published on this subject in the past, the hip's loading is modelled so as to correspond to standing on one lower limb. At this standing, man remains symmetric at the considered level of resolution, and the force of gravity is identical with the body's axis. We consider the standing because man at walking always stands on one lower limb, and we suppose that, at this standing, in the hip joint there develops a maximum force (we do not suppose rapid walking or shock load). Since the computational models presented up to now consider the standing on one lower limb, it was decided to test computational modelling of even the step' next phase. The problem was formulated as follows: to make a strain-stress analysis of the hip joint with applied surface prosthesis for various phases of the step.

The problem of the stress in the head of the hip joint endoprosthesis is solved by FEM. These shape variants of the contact areas were taken into account: accurate variant, deviation from the nominal conicalness, no roundness contact surfaces (modelling by the help of elliptically shaped), indirectness of contact surfaces, combination of no roundness and conicalness. The maximum of the first principal stress in the ceramic head decreases with the increasing of the angle of the loading. Deflections of the type no roundness create the highest values of maximum stresses in the head.
Manufacturing accuracy versus reliability of the hip joint endoprosthesis ceramic head
Fuis, Vladimír
The paper deals with the problems of the stress and failure probability of the ceramic head of hip joint endoprosthesis. Computational modeling is used to solve the problem - stress states are calculated by FEM, failure probability is based on the Weibull weakest link theory. The ceramic head is pressed on the stem cone under ISO 7206-5 conditions. There are considered the macro and micro shape deflections of the contacted cone areas, the values are given from the 3D measured device IMS UMPIRE.
Analysis of the influence of the shape deflections on the contact cones of the stem and the head of the hip joint endoprosthesis on the stress and failure probability of the ceramics head
Fuis, Vladimír
The paper deals with the problems of the stress and failure probability of the ceramic head of hip joint endoprosthesis. There are considered the macro and micro shape deflections of the contacted cone areas, the values are given from the 3D measured device IMS UMPIRE. The macro shape deflection is different conicity of the contacted parts, micro shape deflections are the local shape deflection which are added with the macro shape deflections.
Comparison of the computational and experimental modelling results of the hip joint endoprosthesis behaviour under pressing on the stem
Fuis, Vladimír ; Hlavoň, Pavel
The paper is concerned with the comparison of the computational and experimental results of the hip joint endoprosthesis ceramic head and stem cone self-adhesive connection. There were measured the tangential strain on the lower part of the head's sphere and vertically head displacement. The measured shape deflections from ideal cone shapes were implemented to the FEM model. The comparison of the computational and experimental data were realised for variants with the smooth and teethless stem.
